The project consisted in the canalization of Río La Plata from the river’s mouth up to 600 meters south of the Dorado’s bridge, and the construction of two dams on both sides parallel to the river in order to control river floods.

Puerto Rico North Region CIP Program

This program consisted in the implementation of PRASA’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for 37 projects on the North Region of Puerto Rico.  CPM-MPPR Infrastructure Managers, PSC, a consortium between Caribbean Project Management and Malcolm Pirnie Puerto Rico, was responsible for the implementation of the program.  CPM-MPPR provided project planning and development, permitting, land acquisition support, design, procurement, construction management, start-up and testing, project closure and other services, as requested by PRASA.  During the first phase of the program, a Project Assessment Study and Report was performed to determine the current phase of each individual project.  As a result, the projects were divided in three phases: design, construction and planning.  Services were required in full or in part, depending on the phase of each project.

Colomer Pump Station

This project consisted of the replacement of the existing Colomer Pump Station by the installation of a gravity sanitary trunk sewer with 36″, 48″ and 54″ diameter pipe lines.

Water Treatment Plant Expansion & Improvements, Dorado

This project consisted of the expansion and improvement of the facility by increasing its treatment capacity from 2.0 mgd to 4.0 mgd by providing additional treatment units similar to the Vega Baja Wastewater Treatment Plant.
